"IMMEUBLE CLARTE" LE CORBUSIER IN GENEVA
A 20 th Century Architectural masterpiece designed by Le Corbusier
Service Description
In modern architecture, new materials - steel, concrete, glass - and the rationalisation of building processes - Taylorisation, standardisation of elements - are linked. From their union, a universe is born characterised by pure forms and the serial repetition of elements. In short, an aesthetic of the machine. With a corollary: the rule prevails over the exception, the norm over the singular. Yet it is a very different story that is told by the buildings of the 1960s and 1970s that we discover during this bicycle tour. Far from any discourse of principle, the materials and avant-garde implementation here speak of singularity, not to say exceptionality.
