After an introduction about the history and urban development of the city of Lausanne, we will discover the Flon quarter, a former industrial district converted into the new living center of the city. I will show you exemples of contemporary buildings made by local architectes such Brauen Waelchli, Localarchitecture and Bakker & Blanc. The tour will end at «Plateforme 10», the new arts district located right next to the Lausanne train station. This new cultural platform brings together the Musée Cantonal des Beaux-Arts, designed by Barozzi-Veiga and the Musée de l’Elysée/MUDAC, created by Aires Mateus. Photography, fine arts, textile arts and design will thus be brought together in a single museum centre .A cultural platform to be discovered!
